Imagination in the Time of Pandemic | Psychology Today
I love this quote from Albert Einstein who said, 'Imagination is more important than, knowledge. Pay attention to your imagination and you will discover all you need to be fulfilled'. In 2021, there has never been a more important time, than now to be using your imagination to discover and explore how to respond to current events. Using your imagination from here on can certainly, transform how you respond to uncertainty, and supports people in managing changes with more ease and grace. In 2020, we have all faced so many unexpected situations, which have called people to be resilient, think outside the box and ultimately, pivot in order to survive. In a world, where logic and reason has been so highly valued and respected, Einstein, says 'logic will take you from A to B, but imagination will take you everywhere'. Evolution of the Social Brain During Physical Distancing | Psychology Today Australia
What a difference there is between the human need for social and personal space to what is 'allowable' determined due to the "pandemic." Have you found yourself recalibrating personal space, as a result of health and safety mandates? Or is part of self-preservation in the social space still largely, dependent on our human need for physical hugs and physical connection? There are so many questions left unanswered, as we all navigate this new conversation around personal space. The advent of virtual audiences, as a pivotal response to Covid has led to a new sense of confidence, as social anxiety eases with less face to face contact. How does this affect our senses and are there other ways for people to find satiation in the fulfilment of their human needs? Click below to read more on this important topic.

Mindset
A 'Journey Mindset' Can Get You Through Pandemic Stress - Futurity.
The journey through the pandemic has been different for everyone. I've found it be a great learning experience for me, as I chose to use this journey and its' challenges, as a way to grow. For the first months of the year, I thought I was handling everything pretty well, and then, July hit and I've had challenge after challenge with the loss of my home, car and everyday life, as I knew it. On the one hand it's been pretty stressful and on the other hand, it's been a huge and exciting adventure. Having a journey mindset has certainly, been a key factor in focussing on navigating the changes required for me to step in and rise to each new challenge. It's increased my self-awareness as I reflect on what decisions I need to make rather, than reacting to circumstances in a primitive sense. I am so grateful to my beautiful friends and the people around me who have supported me every step of the way. Click on the link below to read more on how to embrace a journey mindset.

Australian National University Researchers Discover Swelling of Part of the Brain in People with Both Depression and Anxiety - ABC News.
It's a very positive step to see an increased focus on mental health - certainly, long overdue - where research into new ways to respond to treating depression and anxiety is taking place. By increasing our understanding of the effects of depression and anxiety on the brain, (which may lead to Alzheimers disease later in life) there has been more traction in finding the right treatments for people affected. When community begins to normalise and prioritise mental health, it changes the way we think about our mental health needs making a key priority for self-care . This new focus on understanding how to design the most appropriate treatment is a key part of the research into a more sophisticated and accurate understanding of the brain.
